In 2006-07, we had a very contentious debate about immigration reform. It was primarily about the 10-12 million living illegally in the US.
I supported portions of the McCain plan, specially the expansion of the guest worker program.
However, it should have focused on border security first!
Furthermore, we should deal with problems on a step by step basis rather than these so called "comprehensive" approaches!
That was then and this is now.
We've seen an explosion of border violence.
Unfortunately, Mexico has lost control of its northern border. Lawlessness and chaos are now a way of life on the border.
Don't blame McCain for changing his tune.

This is not 2007 when the discussion was about "legalizing" people.
This is 2010 and we are now talking about protecting lives and private property.
Did McCain change? Yes he did!
The border situation has also changed and it's worst than ever!
It's time to seal the border and defend US sovereignty.
